Background
In Fall 2024, Miami Business Consulting partnered with an owner of multiple Kiddie Academy franchises, a leading network of educational child care centers. The client engaged MBC to conduct market research and recommend potential sites for up to six new academy locations in Northwestern South Carolina.

Strategic, Data-Driven Site Selection

Comprehensive market research was conducted to identify high-potential locations for expansion. A weighted scoring model was developed to evaluate key factors such as household income, real estate trends, and market performance, allowing for an objective ranking of cities based on overall attractiveness.

Top-ranked markets were further analyzed, with specific sites evaluated based on both quantitative data and internal recommendations. The site selection framework was refined using insights from existing successful locations, with emphasis on visibility, accessibility, and alignment with target demographics.

All findings were validated using third-party data sources, including Claritas PRIZM and CoStar analytics, to ensure that recommended sites align with the characteristics of established, high-performing centers.
Recommendations
The Kiddie Academy MBC team identified three target areas for potential new locations based on the highest ratings from the weighted scoring model. They assessed available real estate within these areas and identified specific sites for development. Additionally, the team provided strategic recommendations to help the client attract and engage potential families in the new markets.
